Troopers say a multi-vehicle crash on I-4 left a semi-truck driver with serious injuries.

LAKELAND, Fla. – The driver of a semi-truck was hurt very badly in a chain reaction crash on I-4 in Polk County early Sunday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 32-year-old man from Greensboro, N.C., was driving a semi-truck westbound on I-4 around 7:45 a.m. when he didn’t slow down or brake for stopped traffic and crashed into the back of a truck tractor that was stopped for traffic.

A pickup truck was hit by the truck tractor when it hit the car.

When the semi-truck crashed, the driver was hurt very badly. The people driving the other two cars were not hurt.

I-4’s westbound lanes were closed because of the accident until 10:30 a.m.
